Nigerian nationals can apply online for an online visa waiver or an e-visa through an electronic travel visa authorization scheme.

For Nigerian nationals, several initiatives have been put in place to speed up the visa application procedure and do away with the need to physically visit an embassy or consulate or stand in large lines at border crossings in order to apply for a visa upon arrival through electronic visa application.

Presently, about 20 nations allow citizens of Nigeria to apply for a single or multiple entry electronic travel visa permission, with a maximum stay of 90 days, for travel, business, or tourism.

Nigerian nationals must fill out an online visa application form with their personal information, passport details, and travel itinerary in order to apply for an electronic travel visa permission. Additionally, certain nations frequently demand that supporting documents—like an international vaccination certificate—be uploaded.

Some countries require Nigerian candidates to pay a processing fee (which can be paid with a credit or debit card) prior to completing and submitting the form for review.

An electronic travel authorization for a visa will be issued by email and/or electronically connected to the passport upon approval.
